The 4th

We started out the day with a parade (our church entered a float and our kids rode on it). Then we had a nice lunch with Sean's sister Andrea (who came for the weekend). And later in the evening we joined Greta at her annual 4th of July potluck. She lives in condo's that overlook the bay and there is a nice little park perfect for firework viewing...as long as the fog hasn't come in. Thankfully, even though it was a little foggy it didn't ruin the show. A lot of years we only see the fog light up with no real display of pyrotechnics. This is Eli's 3rd 4th of July with our family and at first the noise caught him off guard and he was scared and told us he wanted to go home right now. Sean calmed him down and we were able to stay and watch the whole thing. I have to say it was pretty cool. Better than I've ever seen (that may have something to do with the fog that is usually present).

Eli just looks like such a sad child-never smiles! not! I LOVE his huge smile-it is precious! Glad he was able to enjoy the fireworks. Where does Greta live? Somewhere down by Tidelands? Were there just tons of people at the parade? We didn't make it-maybe next year!
