July in pictures!

We had our family pictures taken on July 4th. I am just going to say I am not happy about my appearance at all, but my family is beautiful and they ROCK!

My favorite picture of my girls!

This is my favorite picture of my boys!

For anyone who doesn't have facebook or already know about Simon's hospital stay...as "narrated" by Simon!

July 5, 2009 started like any other day but ended up with me getting admitted to the local because I was aspirating my formula and couldn't really eat safely anymore.

After a quick demo feeding for the doctor (mommy was tellin' everybody what was going on, but no one was listening) my feedings were abruptly stopped and testing was done to confirm my mommy was correct, I was aspirating, and I was transferred to a hospital two hours away from home. I had my first and I hope my only ambulance ride!
When I got to the other hospital I was coughing and everyone (except mommy and daddy)thought I had whooping cough or some other infectous disease so they put me in isolation. Here mommy and daddy are modeling the latest in isolation wear!
After almost 5 days without food I finally started getting some nourishment through a tube they put in my nose. The doctor's still don't know what's the matter with me:(
Waving to mommy with my not-so-fashionable mittens on. They think it will help me NOT pull out my feeding tube...I'll show them!

Aw...aren't I cute...even when I'm not feeling so good.
Got food am happy!

Look at what a big boy I am...I'm sitting up for the first time all by myself!
Seriously, could I possibly get any cuter?
This was me before one of my many test. Would you be happy if you had tubes down both of your nostrils? The test I had revealed there was a recurrent connection (fistula) between my esophagus and trachea. I had that when I was born also. It looks like I'm going to need surgery.

Ha! I pulled out that stinkin' feeding tube just before my surgery and boy did I feel much better about it.
Eli and mommy in the playroom.
Eli racing up and down the halls in this cool jeep!
Surgery's all finished, but I'm still aspirating when I eat so I get another tube down my nose:(
...but I get to go home!!!
Dawg! I was home for twelve whole hours, but had to come back to the hospital because I was coughing up blood. Oh my mommy did not like that at all!!!!!! Once again my food is stopped and I had more testing done. It showed my fistula returned and now I need surgery AGAIN. This time I'm also getting a feeding tube in my stomach and I'm having a surgery to stop acid from going up my esophagus. Let's get it done folks!

Me in the ICU after surgery. The doctor kept me asleep and on a ventilator for 24 hours.

Five days after surgery and I'm starting to feel better. Can I pleeeeez go home now. I miss my family.I was in the hospital a total of 27 days...the end!

I had no idea Simon's sitting up. See what Aunty Robin misses when you run off to Santa Barbara.

He's too cute, even when you can tell he feels terrible.

No more hospital adventures Simon.
