The past few weeks have been mostly filled with Sime's hospital stay, but the rest of the family has been doing well. Sean was completely exhausted with working full-time, caring for Eli, worry about Sime, and taking care of things at home. He is happy to have me home:) I am happy to be home as well and have been trying to get caught up with things around the house. Brit & PJ have been keeping busy with a life of their own and are planning on moving to a new place by Nov. Dak has kept busy with school, friends, and sleeping. Not a whole lot else going on with her. She is doing well in her english class and received a 87% on a recent essay and overall has an 85% in the class. Eli is in constant motion (or so it seems). He continues to do cartwheels and dramatically fall down during his soccer games. I was told he actually kicked the ball a time or two. So, that brings us to Simon...He is doing MUCH better now. We are feeling confident that his recent surgery was SUCCESSFUL. His hospital stay post surgery did not go as planned. He was supposed to be on a ventilator for 1-2 days but because of complications was on it for 6 days due to Atelectasis (a medical condition in which the lungs are not fully inflated. It may affect part or all of one lung. Most of his left lung was affected). He received awesome care from ALL those involved with taking care of him. We are praising the Lord for His grace during this difficult season!!!!
Happy boy before surgery on 09/30/2009
Obviously...after surgery 09/30/09...this makes me so sad
After several days they stopped the drug that paralyzes him and only keep him on sedation drugs. The tough boy that he is didn't want to be sedated and kept coming around. The stuffed animals our attempt at "baby restraints" to keep his hands away from the vent tube and IV when he wakes up.
The "baby restraints" were no longer working for him...he needed the real things...that's one tough baby!!!!!
A visit from our pastors.
Getting to hold my sweet baby 6 days after surgery 10/05/2009...it was SWEET!!!!
Home at last on 10/08/2009! I missed this little guy!!!!!!
Can you see them teethies?

Glad to see the family is all together again!
The happy smile at the end is such a blessing to see...thanks for sharing, I know it has been hard and just know that God loves you and so do many others....keep the faith and rem it's ok to cry "let it all out" Here comes the sun!
Hi Stacey! I love seeing pictures of your boys. They have grown so much since the summer. Simon is a strong boy to endure all the poking and prodding. You are ten times as strong to be by his bedside with the weight of the world on your shoulders. I hope this will all fade into the past for you.
When you return to a regular routine, we would love a play date!
Sending you our love,
Kim, Mia, and chubby Samuel
