I keep going back-and-forth about continuing posting pictures here or just use facebook! Still can't decide! Anyway...Things have been a bit more busier around here as I have started a three week course--Public Safety Dispatcher (aka 9-1-1 operator)--and I am gone from 7 AM til 5 or 6 PM. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this course. So interesting! There are definitely hard calls to take in this line of work, stuff that can kind of stay with you for a while. It's very important to have a way to de-stress and let the ickyness of what you hear be cleansed from your mind! I don't currently have a job lined up in this field, but Lord willing, this is the career I hope to have for the rest of my working years. Sean will retire due to his disability on April 22. I think this is something that is overdue. His work is so hard on his body and everyday he comes home extremely exhausted. While being home with the kiddos will keep him busy, it will also allow him to rest as needed throughout the day. Dakota has been doing a good job of being our "nanny" while I am in school and we are SO thankful to her. She continues to look for jobs and will start cosmetology school in September. Elias has lost his first tooth! I think he helped it quite a bit!!! He is loving karate and recently tested for his first belt. Don't know if he passed the test or not as he has not received an orange belt yet. As far as I know, he is doing really well in school...we have a conference on 4/12 so I'll know more then:) Simon has recovered from surgery and is doing well. However, he is unable to eat almost ALL solid food because of a very narrow esophagus. This is way worse than before his last surgery. Even previously "safe" foods aren't going down. We have taken to carrying around a "puke" tray to catch the stuff that comes back up. We know this it is most-likely due to scar tissue from surgery, and hope that once the doctor begins dilations Simon's will have an easier time with solids. It may take multiple dilations before we reach that point. His first dilation is tentatively scheduled for May 5. Praise the Lord there doesn't seem to be any consequences from his vagus nerve being severed. Lord willing, once he starts eating solids he will continue to be problem free. As for me, I start work at a local hospital on April 25. I will be working two days a week (12 hr days, varying shifts). A big bonus is that it is a benefited position! Definitely a time of transitions for the Rogers Camp...thankfully we have an awesome God who we can lean on in ALL seasons of life:)
