Simon came home from the hospital on Tuesday. His surgery and hospital recovery went so much better than anticipated. Once g-tube feeds were started things didn't go so smoothly. It's exactly like it was before surgery. He is having such issues when he's being fed (i.e retching, vomiting, and not generally feeling good) We know for sure the fistula was surgically closed. I really, really, really hope I am wrong, but I believe he may have another fistula (one that was there all along but never visualized). That would explain a lot of things. He goes for another test to check the repair on Dec. 2, so we'll know what's up then. If all is good with the esophagram then I think the next step would be a top-to-bottom look at his gastrointestinal track.
Elias had a more difficult time with me being gone this time around. It makes me sad to be away from him and the rest of the family for such long stretches. I am thankful he was able to visit this time.
Dakota turned 18 this month and we celebrated the big day at Applebees. Did you know that Friday's are karaoke night? Well, neither did we. It was loud and obnoxious, but hey, at least we'll remember it:)
Sean and I are trying to keep a positive attitude and enjoy our time together and with the family, but last night was extremely stressful for us as Simon was having a difficult time. If things didn't improve the GI doctor wanted to re-admit him. Praise the Lord...today was such a blessing...we adjusted Simon's feedings to continuous at a very low rate...besides the excessive coughing, he has done fabulously. We hope it will continue for the next two weeks until we see the doctor. There is much to be done here and going back to the hospital doesn't fit in with our schedule:)
Thank you Brit (and Xela) for making this beautiful cake for Dak
As always, happy baby before surgery
after surgery (Sime decided he no longer wanted to be on a ventilator and despite lots of drugs and vigilant nurses he pulled out his vent tube less than 24 hours after surgery.)
A visit from my other boys!
KH and her friends were able to visit also.

Thanks for sharing all the pictures. Eli is getting soooo big! I have missed seeing the boys. And I have really missed seeing you! Once Maddie's cold is gone, we will have to do a park day, ok?
So sad to hear that Simon is still having problems. But what a cutie! :) it was nice to see Dak at Albertsons the other night too.
Take care my friend! Wish there was something I could do to help you. Let me know if there is. Get some sleep. Love ya!
